Privacy Policy
Pechora is a strength training log for Android. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored and how it uses access to Google Drive.
Effective date: October 30, 2026.
Summary
- Pechora works without an account and without a developer server. The developer does not receive your data.
- Your training diary is stored on your phone.
- The app contains no ads, no analytics and no third-party trackers.
- Google Drive is connected only if you choose to, and is used only for backups of your diary.
- Your data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or to train AI models.
Data the app handles
The app stores on the device what you enter yourself: workouts and sets (weight, reps, effort rating), training programs, places and equipment, body weight, exercise notes and settings. This data is used only to run the diary: show the plan, suggest the last weight, calculate progress.
All calculations run on the phone. The app sends your diary nowhere except the destinations you choose: an export file, an auto-backup folder on the device, or your own Google Drive.
Google Drive
Connecting Google Drive is optional. If you turn it on in Settings → Data → Google Drive, the app asks Google for these permissions:
- drive.file: create files in your Google Drive and access only the files the app itself created. The app cannot see any other content of your Drive.
- openid and email address: to show in the app's settings which account is connected.
With this access Pechora saves a JSON copy of your diary to your Drive after a workout, verifies that the file was written completely, and deletes its own older copies, keeping the latest 7. The account email is stored only on the phone. The copies live in your Google account; the developer has no access to them.
You can stop backups with the switch in the app's settings and revoke access in your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Copies already created stay in your Drive until you delete them.
Google API data use
Pechora's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to back up your diary at your request. It is not transferred to any person or service, not used for advertising, and not used to develop, improve or train AI or machine learning models.
Other backups
You can export the diary to a file or turn on auto-backup to a folder you pick on the device. Android may separately back up app data to your Google account; this is controlled in the device settings.
Retention and deletion
Data is kept until you delete it. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android settings erases the diary from the phone. Export files, auto-backup copies and copies in Google Drive remain until you delete them yourself.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
